Pomona – Our Garden Of Eden

#EdenProjectNorth #SavePomona

In a walk around Pomona Docks you can see more species of flower than at the Tatton Flower Show and the Chelsea Flower Show put together

Pomona used to be a Secret Garden for a small number of ecologists and locals, but now many people are recognising the site as Manchesters’ Garden Of Eden

As if to amplify this, a rare Garden Warbler, a species of bird on migration to Africa, has arrived on Pomona, on Pomona day, 13th August

A feature of the site is Yellow-wort (see picture) and it is thought that Pomona is one of just two sites within Greater Manchester where this species grows

The Pomona Festival takes place today, Saturday 15th August, at 2pm

Look out for Focus On Flora events on Pomona this summer
